Jim has over 40 years of experience using organic practices, Permaculture principles, farming systems, landscaping, and gardening.
He specializes in helping clients with land use including, but not limited to: food and fruit production, soil building, water management, and forest diversity. This approach brings together various ideas and harmonizes them.
Due to his vast experiences, Jim can draw upon numerous project experiences and
provide options for you to choose from based on your needs and lifestyle.
We will survey your site together to determine what resources you have, and what we might need to incorporate.
We will take various soil samples and send them to WayPoint Analytical for testing. This will give us vital information regarding your soil health and nutrients available.
This part is about building relationships between fungi, bacteria, worms, and insects, which all connect to build soils life and health. This is where cover cropping, mulching, leaves, compost aid this process.
When we combine a number of solutions, those interconnections allow a system to flourish. Water, soil, fungi, plants, animals, livestock, and more can be considered at this stage.
The most important piece of this process is you. What do you feel when you hear birds, smell the herbs, see the flowers, taste the harvest? What are your values, your needs, and what are you passionate about?
"Jim is a wealth of knowledge. Since my husband and I are novice farmers, we so appreciate his thorough and kind approach to helping us make the most out of our small farm!"
"Jim brings information and evidence to support his creative ideas, and is always willing to connect you with an expert or point you towards resources if he doesn't have the answers. This type of transparency and collaboration has been so helpful to me!"
